Back Alley Art Festival & Launch of The Lake Park Arts District

Mural Rendering

MOMENTUM CONTINUES AT LAKE PARK ARTS DISTRICT

Mural fundraising continues which will be capped off with the Back Alley Arts Festival on January 28th

The new Lakes Park Arts District, spearheaded by the gang at the Brewhouse Gallery and later by the opening of the Kelsey Theater is in full gear.  Henry Rollins, a (very) well known national recording act just performed at Kelsey and more national acts are sure to follow.  Painting recently began on a mural that will fill a wall all along the 700 block of Park Avenue.  If you haven’t seen the progress, you gotta go by there, grab a coldie at Brewhouse, and check it out.

Fundraising continues as the wall is now approximately 90% funded. All funds will go towards the local artists participating in the mural along with their supplies. Several local heavyweight artists are joining the effort to get this thing completed; word on the street is Craig McInnis, Eduardo Mendieta, Amanda Valdes, and Tony Hernandez will be involved, with other artists to be announced later.  All of these artists have been featured in The Atlantic Current during our short 4-year history, and they are all exceptional.

Join us in helping get the Lake Park Arts District to their fundraising finish line.  To learn more visit their Facebook page at facebook.com/LakeParkArtsDistrict.  They are looking for donations of paint as well as a scissor lift, so if you can help with either of these items, give them a call at 561-469-8930.  Click this link to donate:
