GHOST OWL MAKES THEIR SOUTH FLORIDA DEBUT
FRIDAY, JULY 5TH AT THE FUNKY BISCUIT
New band formed by Perpetual Groove’s Adam Perry, Albert Suttle and Matthew McDonald
What do you do when your band of 15 years breaks up? If you’re Adam Perry, Albert Suttle and Matt McDonald, previously of Perpetual Groove, you go right back to what you love — making music. Ghost Owl is the next evolution for these three seasoned musicians from Athens, GA, and they will make their highly anticipated South Florida debut on Friday, July 5th at The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton.
Ghost Owl combines influences from Rock, Indie and EDM with integrated video, imagery and technology to create an entirely new kind of live music experience. Where Perpetual Groove can be described as a genre blending guitar-driven jam band, Ghost Owl can more aptly be labeled indie rock with EDM tendencies. The trio moves further from PGroove’s style by changing up their signature sound and instrumental focuses. PGroove bassist Perry has found himself running dozens of synthesizers, while keyboardist McDonald is now lead guitarist and head visual controller. Both men also share vocal and songwriting duties, and Suttle continues to drive the beat on drums.
One thing that hasn’t changed is their legions of loyal fans. With a large number of “Perps” (a term affectionately describing a PGroove fan) residing in South Florida, it is safe to say that July 5th will be a family reunion for many.
While in town, Ghost Owl will also participate in the launch of “Live from AURA Studios”, a new series from the team behind AURA Music & Arts Festival that will feature live streaming HD performances from a variety of bands as they pass through South Florida. Ghost Owl will perform select songs from their upcoming debut album “Say Goodbye to Finland” on Wednesday, July 10th from 8-10pm. Fans can tune in for FREE at www.livefromaura.com.
