A Swank Dinner at a Swanky Farm
Out west in Loxahatchee, Swank Specialty Produce thrives on a 20-acre farm flush with over 360 varieties of produce. Swank is a well-established farm and has been distributing their food to restaurants and hotels for more than two decades, but they also enjoy connecting with the community. They host farmer’s markets every Saturday, October through May, selling their own produce and the goods of 25+ other local food vendors. They are also part of a Farm Share program, Swank Sack, in which community members can purchase weekly or biweekly assortments of their locally grown produce to be delivered and used in their own kitchens, without worrying about needing a green thumb. But if you want to take it a step further, we recommend that you attend a Swank Table Dinner and avoid your kitchen all together.
Swank Table Dinners take place on the farm, and include a tour of Swank’s hydroponic growing houses, a multi-course meal cooked onsite by local chefs, and live music to tie it all together. Each dinner has a unique theme that determines each course of the menu. We were lucky enough to attend the Farm Market Asado dinner. This menu, with each course belonging to a single chef, was laden with Latin influences from Asado Beef Empanadas and Argentine Grilled Skirt Steak Salad to the Chocolate Caramel Flan.
Not only do the dinners support the farm, chefs and music acts, a portion of proceeds are also donated to charity. With the new year comes a fresh lineup of Swank Table Dinners to choose from that span cultures, decades and inspirations. You can view the upcoming dinners below.
