There are so many great activities for kids in Palm Beach County that it can sometimes be hard to know where to start when it comes to planning weekend or after-school fun. We’ve compiled some of our favorites in South County for your consideration. Whether you’re a new resident or you’re tired of building sandcastles, we know you’ll be satisfied with any of these kid-friendly adventures — and the kids will be too, of course!

Bedner’s Farm 

What it is
A farm fresh market growing quality produce

What to do
Pick strawberries, host a private party or ride the tractor

Why it’s good for kids
Knock out your grocery shopping at the same time


The Girl’s Strawberry Patch 

What it is
Exactly what it sounds like, but minus the strawberries (for now)

What to do
There are currently no strawberries, but there are lots of other activities like a petting zoo, gem mining and a rubber duck derby race

Why it’s good for kids
You heard us say petting zoo, right?


Delray Beach Children’s Gardens 

What it is
An educational oasis

What to do
They offer structured classes, open garden play on the weekends and even themed birthday parties (fairy tea party is an option — we checked)

Why it’s good for kids
They can get their little hands dirty (and learn things) without tracking it all over your house


Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

What it is
An education center and sister organization to nonprofit Gumbo Limbo Coastal Stewards

What to do
Attend one of their daily aquarium feedings or enjoy their nature trail

Why it’s good for kids
It’s free!
