Ring in 2020 at some of the hottest parties in town
By Darien Davies
New Year’s Eve is right around the corner so it’s time to think on how you want to ring in 2020. Viable options include toasting to the good life in your jammies at home, screaming with hundreds of your local best friends in a loud club, or hanging out outside lighting all of the fireworks you can get your hands on. Whatever your pleasure, we’ve found some of the best parties in town so you can focus more on the outfit and less on output. Cheers to a great 2020, and have the best time figuring out your “New Year, New Me” goals.
If you’re looking for the best ROI in town, look no further than Sub-Culture Group’s New Year’s Eve 2020 on the 500 Block. Held – you guessed it – at the 500 Block of Clematis Street, you’re invited to a party without velvet ropes, hassles, or “fancy pants” stuff. Hullabaloo, Kapow! Noodle Bar, Respectable Street, Lost Weekend and Voltaire are offering you a wild ride without the drive. Enjoy a $55 well open bar package, $75 premium open bar package or a la carte beverages options, as well as no cover charge at Kapow! Hullabaloo or Lost Weekend. If you’re in the mood to rock your socks off, head to Voltaire and Respectable Street where they have live music and DJs (and a cover). The open bar is open from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and pre-sale tickets end at 4 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. While bar packages are not required, just take note that they will be $10 more at the door. So show up, get down, and bring extra green to tip your bartenders who are pouring your way to a great 2020.
If the Intracoastal breeze and live music are in your must-have NYE plans, set sail for Guanabanas in Jupiter. The first bonus is that there’s no cover, which gives you more cash for the cocktails. You’ll also be privy to live music all night long from Guavatron, Tand and Of One Mind, giving you the crazy convenient option of enjoying music from three amazing bands without having to change venues. The evening kicks off at 8 p.m. with drink specials, great food and live music, and you’re invited to kick back, relax and enjoy the breeze. Another plus is that the event is only open to people 21+ so you won’t find any kiddos in the mix, allowing you to jam out adult-style. Guanabanas is basically the most Florida-style way to celebrate the New Year: in a beach chair, by the water, with hot music and a cool drink. Go ahead and tip your tiny cocktail umbrella to that.
Looking for a one-stop-shop type of New Year’s Eve party? Crazy Uncle Mike’s has you covered. In addition to live music by The Flyers starting at 9 p.m., you’re invited to indulge in the three-course dinner and beer pairing for $125 per person. Choose from shrimp and lobster crème brûlée, roasted red and yellow beet carpaccio or bone marrow to start; crispy duck breast, seared scallops or bourbon-glazed pork chops for your entrée; and round out with the popcorn panna cotta or chocolate pound cake for dessert. Beer pairings include Bourbon Barrel Aged Tripel, Infused Belgian Wit, Widow Maker Aged Stout, or Rum Barrel Aged Tripel, and can be substituted for red or white wine. Party favors and a midnight toast are also included, so the only thing you need to do is show up and be ready to party.
For a party that never seems to end, head to Tin Roof. They’ve conjured up one of the busiest New Year’s Eve parties in town and you’re invited to ring in a new decade with food, drinks, live entertainment, DJs, karaoke, a Vegas-style Casino for Charity, complimentary champagne toast, and more. If you plan to fuel to win, their three-course dinner should do the delicious trick. Held from 5 to 8 p.m., enjoy either a root vegetable salad, Old World sausage and cheese platter or three Dixie Biscuits as your appetizer; poached and chilled Tiger Shrimp, black pepper-smoked brisket, maple and ginger-glazed salmon or veatloaf (meatless black bean loaf) for your entrée; and assorted pastries for dessert, all while Spider Cherry performs. Your dinner ticket does not include a reserved table or seat after 9 p.m. when dinner service ends, but it does include your entry into the post-dinner NYE party featuring a Casino for Charity, entertainment and more. Come one, come all.
So say sayonara to 2019 and set your sights on 2020 with a crazy good time at some of the hottest New Year’s Eve parties in town.
